Daily Devotional: September 10, 2023 – Isaiah 46:4

[The Lord says,] “Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” – Isaiah 46:4

Thoughts on Today’s Verse

Ever feel like you’re alone in your struggles? Like you have to carry heavy loads by yourself? Well, today’s verse is a great reminder that you’re not alone.

It’s from the book of Isaiah, chapter 46, verse 4. It’s God’s promise to us. He says that He will be with us, even when we’re old and gray. He will sustain us, which means He won’t let us fall. He will carry us, easing our loads. And, He will rescue us, like a superhero saving the day.

Isn’t that comforting? The same God who made us, promises to be with us throughout the journey of life. He doesn’t abandon us when things get tough. Instead, He helps us get through it. It’s as if He’s saying, “Don’t worry, I’ve got you.”

This verse reminds me of those times when we’re struggling; maybe with homework, chores or just feeling down. It’s during these times that we remember God’s word to us in Isaiah 46:4. The Lord promises to help us, support us, and rescue us. When we feel ourselves getting weak, God says that He is there to make us strong again. He promises to help us carry our burdens and to give us rest.

So, the next time you’re feeling low, just think of this verse. Remember, you’re never alone. The Lord is with you, He helps you, He carries you. He is your superhero!

My Prayer

Dear Lord,

Thank you for your sweet promise in Isaiah 46:4. Thank you for reminding us that we are not alone. Thank you for being our superhero, for carrying us when we are tired, for sustaining us when we feel weak, and for rescuing us in times of trouble.

Lord, please help us remember this promise when we are feeling down. Help us to know that you are always there, ready to carry us. When things get tough, remind us that we have you to lean on.

We ask this, trusting in your unfailing love and your unending care for us.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we offer this heartfelt prayer.

Amen.
