“We proclaim him [Jesus], admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we present everyone perfect in Christ.” – Colossians 1:28
Thoughts on Today’s Verse
Today’s verse is from Colossians 1:28. It says, “We proclaim him [Jesus], admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we present everyone perfect in Christ.” This verse holds a profound truth. It tells us that we should share the teachings of Jesus with everyone. And we should do it with wisdom.
Have you ever felt the need to share something special with someone? Like a good movie you just saw or a new restaurant you discovered? That’s because when we find something good, we want to share it with those around us.
Just like that, when we discover the love of Jesus and His teachings, we should also feel compelled to share this treasure. Not just in words, but also through our actions. And we should do so wisely, and with understanding.
This verse also reminds us of our goal and purpose. We are here not just to exist, but to find perfection through Christ. Like a fine piece of art in the hands of an expert craftsman, we are works in progress, aiming for perfection in Christ. Every day, we learn, we grow, we improve.
So today, let’s reflect on these words. Let’s think about how we can share Jesus’s teachings wisely and how we can aim for perfection in Him. Let’s remember that we are all on this journey together, helping each other, growing together, and aiming for our best selves in Christ.
My Prayer
Dear God, thank You for Your word today. We are reminded to share Your teachings with everyone and to do so with wisdom. It might not always be easy and we might not always know the right words to say. But help us, God. Help us to reflect Your love and wisdom in all that we do.
We also pray for guidance on our journey towards perfection in You. We know we make mistakes and that we are far from perfect. But still, we strive for it, because we know it’s what You want for us. Please guide us and correct us when we falter. Help us grow.
May Your words continually inspire us and guide us in our daily lives. In everything, we aim to be better. Better friends, better family members, and better followers of You.
In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
