Thoughts on Today’s Verse
Imagine, your friend’s backpack is overly filled. It’s too heavy to carry around all day. What would you do? You’d probably help carry it, wouldn’t you? This is just like what today’s Bible verse, Galatians 6:2, is telling us to do. But instead of a backpack, we’re talking about life’s burdens – things that make us sad, worry, or feel heavy inside our hearts.
When we carry each other’s burdens, we are acting out love as Jesus taught us. Think about a time when someone helped you with something heavy, or when you felt sad and someone was there for you. It felt good, didn’t it? That’s the same feeling we give others when we help them carry their burdens.
Simple little things, like a hug, a comforting word, a listening ear, or even just a friendly smile, can make a big difference in someone’s day. We don’t have to do huge tasks to help lift someone’s burdens. A small act of kindness can often mean the world to the person who is feeling down.
Being kind and loving to others is fulfilling the law of Christ. We each have different burdens, and we are meant to help each other out. Just as we occasionally need help, there are times when we can be a helper to others.
So, next time we see someone struggling, let’s remember our verse for today. Let’s help them carry their burden, just as we would want someone to help us.

Dear God,
First off, thank you for always being there for us. You’re our biggest burden bearer. Even in our most troubled times, you stay by our side. Please guide us to do the same for others.
And Lord, it’s not always easy to see when someone is struggling. Open our hearts and minds so we can see when others need us. Give us the wisdom and strength to offer help and comfort.
God, help us to live out your word. Make us always ready to take others’ burdens upon ourselves. As Jesus taught us, we, too, want to love and care for our neighbors. Help us be friends with others in their time of need.
