“We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”Ephesians 2:10

Thoughts on Today’s Verse

Think for a moment about Ephesians 2:10, “We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. This wonderful piece of scripture lets us know: We are God’s masterpiece.

Imagine the most magnificent painting you’ve ever seen or the most beautiful song you’ve ever heard. Just as an artist gives careful, thoughtful attention to every brushstroke and a composer to every note, that’s how God designed you. You aren’t just some piece of art in His gallery; you’re God’s cherished and exceptional masterpiece! Wouldn’t you agree it’s a marvelous thought?

This verse further enlightens us that God has crafted us to carry out the virtuous deeds He has envisioned for us. It’s much like a teacher handing us an engaging project and guiding us through the steps to accomplish it. God has bestowed a unique mission upon each of us and He generously aids us in achieving it.

So, you might wonder, what exactly are these virtuous deeds? It could be extending a hand to mom and dad at home, offering kindness to our friends, or sharing our playthings. Although these actions might seem insignificant, they fill God’s heart with immense joy.

Isn’t that simply wonderful to think about? So regardless of the circumstances, always cherish the fact that you aren’t merely an afterthought, but God’s beloved masterpiece, meticulously created with love and assigned a divine purpose.

Now, shall we join our hearts and lift up our prayers to God?

My Prayer

Dear God, how grateful I am to be Your masterpiece. When I feel small or lost, remind me of this wonderful truth. Lead me, as I strive to perform the good deeds you designed for me. Knowing they bring joy to You, I yearn to make You happy.
Lord, direct me to express Your love daily, in helping around the house, being kind to others, or sharing. Help me mirror Your love to all.

I thank You for always having faith in me and for the grand plans You have for my life. Continue to guide and shield me, dear Father. This is my heartfelt prayer.

Amen.
